NEAAP Fall Pediatrics Conference

Join the Nebraska Chapter AAP for its annual pediatrics conference.

Beginning with Grand Rounds, pediatric physicians, specialists and advance practice providers have the opportunity to hear updates on child health topics and timely issues impacting the health and wellbeing of Nebraska’s children and adolescents.

CONFERENCE AGENDA

  • Presenter: Minal Giri, MD, is a board certified general pediatrician. She is the executive director for the Midwest Human Rights Consortium and the founder/physician chair of the ICAAP Refugee Child Health Initiative.

  • Learn what your Chapter has been working on over the past year and join us as we present the Child Advocate of the Year, Friend of Child Health and other awards.

  • Presenters: Brenda Weidner, MD and Addison Weidner

    Dr. Weidner is a board certified pediatric hospitalist with Children’s Nebraska and Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital.

    Her daughter Addison is a an honor roll student at Skutt Catholic High School.

  • Presenter: Matt Gibson, MD, FAAP

    Dr. Gibson is a board certified general pediatrician with Methodist Physicians Clinic and the Nebraska Chapter AAP president-elect.

    He led a four-year campaign with the American Cancer Society to increase HPV vaccination rates and serves on his health system's vaccine committee.

  • Presenter: Clayton Mowrer, DO, MBA, MPH, FAAP

    Dr. Mowrer is board certified in internal medicine, pediatrics and infectious diseases. He Assistant Professor, UNMC Department of Pediatrics, Division of Infectious Diseases and Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases

  • Presenters: Jennifer Meek, PhD and Holly Roberts, PhD

    Dr. Meeks is a Senior Research Manager at the University of Nebraska Public Policy Center (NUPPC), where she conducts research and program evaluation studies in the fields of education and behavioral health. Currently, her work focuses on the assessment and promotion of school-based mental health services and family engagement.

    Dr. Roberts is a licensed psychologist who provides behavioral health services Children’s Physicians. Dr. Roberts also has a faculty appointment at the Munroe-Meyer Institute at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in the Department of Psychology.

  • Presenter: Prisilla LaCroix, DO

    Dr. LaCroix is a general pediatrician and works as a newborn hospitalist with Children’s Nebraska.
